Greenbluff

Tim and I love Green Bluff. (Obviously, since we got married there.) During our many visits we have become regulars at many places and we can't seem to get enough. Here is our list of top places on top of the bluff:

Ellie's Edibles: Simply to die for caramel! Ellie's Edibles is owned and operated by Ellie and Bill Grubich, and is located at
17909 N. Dunn Road on the ground level of their beautiful home. Ellie makes gourmet candy, with fresh caramel as the focal point. Wonderful creations such as, suckers, espresso bars, turtles, sauces, cut caramels, exquisite truffles, and seasonal fruit confections from the local from Green Bluff fruit orchards, greats you as you walk in the door to this little shop. Ellie or Bill always have warm greetings and will ask if you would like to sample something.
The one thing we always buy is the sea salt caramel! I know what you are thinking: "Sea salt on caramel? I'm not sure that goes together." Well, it does. It tastes delicious and whatever we buy it, it is usually gone before we get home.
Gourmet candy of this quality never comes cheep. However, the $20 a pound is completely worth it as we never buy more than a few squares at a time. Ellie did tell us a story one time about a man that came in a bought several baking sheets of sea salt caramel. Each sheet weighs several pounds. You do the math.

The Plan

Oh, K here's the plan. I'm going to start saying what I want about what I want. Here it goes.

Rant: Construction! What genius down at the Spokane Roads Dep. decided to do construction on every road that I need to drive on to get almost anywhere? North Market St. is torn up so I can't go that way. South Market has no bridge over the railroad tracks so i can't get to the freeway. Then, I drive down Mission/Trent and I can't go east of SCC because Eller Co. is the worst construction company that has ever existed and is taking almost a month to put in some new pipe. WTF? Yesterday I started at the "Y" and it took me almost an hour to get to east Sprague down by Costco. Detour after detour after detour.

Rave: Tacos Tumbras! Greatest Mexican food in the area. Not that crappy Mexican food drenched Mole sauce like from Azteca, but real Mexican food from a taco trailer. I like to go to the restaurant located at 9420 E Sprague Ave. Everything is good. My favorites are the sopes, enchiladas and anything with asada.

I believe that we go to Milan first and then to Vience for the night. Crazy! We are gpoing a million mile an hour. We are seeing a lot and I am always falling a sleep on the bus. Thank goodness for my iPod. That is all for now.

Europe Again!

So I'm off to Europe in two days with my family. A different kind of trip than last time. Nicer hotels, charter buses, and guided tours. I'm not really into looking like a tourist but I'm not complaining. We will be traveling to 7 different countries in 3 weeks. Please keep checking back as I will update this blog as often as I can. Ciao for now!

Back Home

Well, I'm back home now and glad to be here. I love to travel and see new places, however there is no place like home. During this trip I learned that I really don't like being away from home for a long period of time. I have so much going on here and everything and everyone I love is here as well. I just really hope that I find a teaching job next fall at home or somewhere close so I don't have to miss people anymore.

London Again

I spent last night in a pub talking to some locals and had a great time. Today I took my last exam and now the class is done! Nothing but play from here on out. This afternoon I am going to see Marry Poppins and then the tower of London. Should be a great day.
